Surfers’ kitchen named as a Chefs’ Lunch beneficiary

City of Bunbury Surf Life Saving Club will kit out its new kitchen for club events and fundraising thanks to the 2018 Chefs’ Long Table Lunch.

Club president Denise Duncan said the club was privileged to be named as one of the major beneficiaries this year and, depending upon the success of the event, would receive $25,000.

“This is the third time we’ve been a beneficiary over the years,” Mrs Duncan said.

“We applied for kitchen utensils and cooking utensils for our newly revamped kitchen and we were privileged enough to be a major beneficiary.”

The club completed its renovations at the start of this year, which Mrs Duncan said would provide for and attract members.

“The whole idea is increasing membership so that we really support our members in providing a really social environment for them,” she said.

Mrs Duncan said the club would also support the event with volunteers as servers and provide auction items.

“We’re hoping to provide some auction items, such as a surfboard signed by a world champion,” she said.

Mrs Duncan said tickets for the event would also be available through the club’s website bunburyslsc.com.au.
