SW drivers warned as hail storm approaches

South Western Times

South West drivers are being warned to put their cars undercover this afternoon as an expected thunderstorm could bring hail.

“We are expecting thunderstorms in the South West this afternoon,” said a spokeswoman from the Bureau of Meteorology.

“It is possible that the thunderstorms coming off the coast of Bunbury will be severe, with the possibility of damaging winds, hail and heavy rainfall.”

Winds could get as high as 90kmh, while there is expected to be about 15 to 20mm of rainfall if the thunderstorm hits.
