SW pair help Australia to world series victory

South West hockey stars Jake Harvie and Tristan Clemons helped the men’s Australian Hockey Team to victory in the FIH Hockey World League at the weekend.
The pair were part of the Kookaburras team which defeated Argentina 2-1 in Monday morning’s heart-stopping final.
Clemons had an excellent series in goals, while Harvie did well for just his second time being around the national set-up.
In the final, Australia’s Jeremy Hayward opened the scoring from a penalty corner in the 17th minute.
But Australia’s lead did not last long, because Argentina levelled within 60 seconds thanks to an excellent goal from Agustin Bugallo.
Blake Govers’ 58th minute drag flick clinched the win for the Australia, with the reigning champions’ defence holding strong in the latter half of the game to clinch the series victory.
