South West Academy of Sport held its highly anticipated hockey partner sport program induction on November 21. The event marked the induction of 10 new athletes, who joined 15 returning to the program. During the induction, head coach Nicole Arrold outlined the program’s expectations, emphasising the dedication and commitment required from the athletes. The program aims to nurture and develop their skills to excel both on and off the field. Assistant coach Keith Old spoke about the exciting partnership between SWAS and Hockey WA. He emphasised the tremendous support the State sporting governing body would provide to the program, including coaching clinics and visits to the region. “Through this collaboration, the athletes will have the opportunity to learn from experienced coaches and gain exposure to a higher level of competition,” SWAS chief executive Bernice Butlion said. “The partnership with Hockey WA will undoubtedly enhance their hockey skills and contribute to their overall development as athletes. “We are thrilled to have Hockey WA as our partner and their support will enable our athletes to reach new heights in their hockey journey,” Arrold said.
