Intrigue will linger over both Bunbury Basketball Association preliminary finals this weekend, with so much at stake for all competing clubs.

Victory Friday night and a shot at glory awaits – while defeat will mean the singlets will be in mothballs for a few months.

In the A-Women’s match up, Tornadoes Red would dearly love a chance to square off against sister side Black in the grand final, but standing in their way are the resolute Dunsborough Oilers.

The Oilers have dominated Red throughout the season, with Red’s only victory against the visitors recorded back in round nine.

In all of their victories, the Oilers have engineered solid offensive bursts and stretched Red’s defence with a variety of scoring threats.

Having said that, Red players have benefited from key rest periods over the last month due to forfeited matches – with their two performances during this period a slender 55-52 loss to Black and last Friday’s 64-50 first semi-final win over Aces Sky.

The fairytale rise of the Oilers in the A-Men competition rolls on for another week, following their 84-69 first semi-final win over Aces Sky.

In their inaugural BBA season, the Oilers have won three of their last four games and face Tornadoes Black for a spot in the decider against the Bulls.
