Tickets on sale for iconic lunch event
Tickets are now on sale for Bunbury’s premier food and wine event, the 2018 Chefs Long Table Lunch.
Next year’s event is expected to again sell out, with more than 500 people tipped to attend the gourmet alfresco dining extravaganza overlooking the shores of the Leschenault Inlet on February 25.
Organisers are hoping the event will achieve the $1 million milestone for funds raised since it started in 2004.
Now in its 15th year, the charity event will showcase the best of South West produce, wines and entertainment as award winning chefs cook up a gourmet feast.
Chef’s Long Table Lunch chairman Doug Green said he expected tickets would be in high demand.
“It’s always a great afternoon with wonderful food and entertainment,” he said.
“There’s some new dishes planned this year, and some great entertainment. And the Chef’s Long Table Lunch supports so many South West projects and charities, so it’s for a great cause.
“We’re expecting demand for tickets will be brisk as always.”
Nine community groups will benefit from the money raised.
The key beneficiaries are the City of Bunbury Surf Life Saving Club, GP Down South, the Rotary Club of Leschenault and the Heal for Life Foundation.
Several smaller community beneficiaries include the South West Academy of Sport, the South West Women’s Health and Information Centre, the Second Bunbury Sea Scouts, the Dalyellup Men’s Shed and the Leschenault Scout Group.
The event has been run entirely by a small voluntary committee since its inception in 2004 and has donated more than $925,000 to more than 50 South West community and not-for-profit organisations.
