St Patrick’s Day, the Nutcracker, Troy Bennell’s exhibition and Monster Trucks are on our eclectic Top 10 list this week.

1. Monster trucks

Head to Quit Bunbury Speedway on Saturday for a not-to-be-missed Monster Trucks event.

Gates open at 4pm, the pit party starts at 4.30pm and the big show will begin at 6pm.

2. The Nutcracker

Followingt the 2017 sell-out performance of Swan Lake, Moscow Ballet la Classique return to Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Saturday with Tchaikovsky’s spectacular masterpiece The Nutcracker.

This romantic tale with its blend of magic and realism brings to life the popular Tchaikovsky score featuring the famous Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and The Waltz of the Flowers.

3. Melanoma march

Spend a cruisy Sunday morning marching or running to raise funds for Melanoma WA from 7.30am.

The event will start from Bunbury Power Boat Club and head out along the Leschenault Inlet loop.

Marchers will complete 5km while runners will complete 10km.

Participants are invited to enjoy light refreshments and entertainment at the Boat Club after the event.

4. Fun run

The year’s SWAS Telstra Fun Run will be held on Saturday from 7am.

Categories include 10km run, 5km run or walk or 2km run.

The first 100 people to register for the annual race around the Leschenault Inlet will get a free t-shirt.

5. Thundamentals

Ten years of music and friendship will be celebrated at the Prince of Wales Hotel on Friday night as part of the Thundamentals’ anniversary tour.

The Decade of the Thundakat tour tops a stellar year for the hip-hop outfit who have previously graced Groovin’ the Moo, Splendour in the Grass and the Falls Festival.

6. Field day

Amalgamated Prospectors and Leaseholders Association South West branch are holding a field day on Sunday from 10am at the Dardanup Aeromodellers Society located at 270 Panizza Road, Crooked Brook.

Guests are welcome to see metal detectors, enter a target/find competition and check out displays from representatives like the Prospectors Pick.

The event is free entry with strictly no dogs allowed.

7. St Patrick’s Day

Celebrate the luck of the Irish on Saturday at the Highway Hotel and Trafalgars with food and drink specials on offer all day.

The Highway Hotel will host karaoke in the main bar from 8pm and Trafalgars will have plenty of Irish music playing.

The green party will also kick on from 10pm at Fitzgerald’s Irish Bar.

8. Exhibition opening

Troy Bennell’s Ngany exhibition will open at Maker and Co on Friday night.

Ngany Troy Bennell, the inaugural exhibition in the Six Seasons Arts Program curated by Maker and Co will open on Friday at 6.30pm.

The exhibition will show a series of Troy’s powerful works and give attendees the opportunity to add a signature Noongar piece to their art collection.

9. BMX battle

Bunbury BMX Club hosts a Battle at Bunno pre-national event on Saturday from 10am.

The event has a minimum prize of $4000 for the Pro superclass men and women.
