Tornadoes pull off big comeback
Tornadoes Black came from behind to defeat the Busselton Bullets by nine points on Friday night in the Bunbury Basketball Association’s Dale Alcock Homes A-Grade competition.
Black overcame a 16-point deficit to record an 81-72 win, with Ryan Smith scoring a team-high 19 points, while Jason Smith added 16 points.
Busselton’s Beau Chinnery scored a game-high 24 points including four three-pointers, while Dylan Ness (19 points) and Matt Mansfield (11 points) played well.
Aces Navy defeated an undermanned Tornadoes Red side 94-79, with Red only suiting up five players for the match.
Jeremy Paull cracked the 40 point barrier for the second time this season with 46 for Navy, while Luke Deighton added 14.
Jay Walton scored 21 points for Red.
Bulls Maroon beat Aces White 78-59 with James Goodlad scoring 20 points for the winners.
Matt Germs (19 points) and Brody England (14 points) were the stand-outs for White.
Bulls Gold smashed Tornadoes Grey 125-74 with Gold nailing 19 three pointers for the match.
Tre Nichols and Teny Pout scored 28 points each, while Michael Lay (27 points) and Clive Weeden (20 points) also played well.
Grey were led by Tyrone Winder’s 19 points.
