Motorists were stuck in heavy traffic this morning on a stretch of Bussell Highway near Dalyellup after an incident with a log truck. Police said about 6.20am a truck travelling north made contact with another vehicle, causing the truck’s back trailer to spill and lose its load. Witnesses reported logs being scattered from the Norton Promenade traffic lights to the Ampol petrol station. No one was injured in the incident and the site has since been cleared, but a light pole was knocked down and damaged in the incident. Heavy traffic was banked up northbound for about two hours and the road was closed between Norton Promenade and Centenary Road, but has reopened. Traffic management was in place to detour drivers through Dalyellup.
