Truck crash cuts power

Callum HunterSouth Western Times

Traffic was delayed and power cut in Brunswick this morning after an empty log truck hit a pole on South Western Highway near the Caltex service station.

Australind Police Sen. Const. Jo Haworth said the crash was reported at 7.45am and the driver escaped without injury.

“The semi-trailer was heading in a northerly direction, slowly crossed onto the wrong side of the road and hit a power pole,” she said.

“We’re still investigating the cause.”

Western Power was still on site at 9.30am with traffic management in place as workers restored power and replaced the pole.
