Twenty20 gives way to regular season fixtures

The hurley burley of hurricane cricket is over for a while and it’s back to normal for Bunbury and Districts Cricket Association until the Christmas Twenty20 “big bash” break.
The last round of Twenty20 threw the cat among the pigeons with Marist winning their first major league match of the season and conversely the leaders Eaton, losing their first fixture.
Eaton entertain Dalyellup Beach who have taken Marist’s wooden spoon and with six batsmen in the top 21 backed up by five bowlers in the top 20 including high-riding paceman Clint Hewson and miserly Steve Barron, the Beavers must start hot favourites for the points on their home turf of Eaton Oval.
Dalyellup have three batsmen and three bowlers in the top 20 with heavy input required from Dan Lomax, skipper Paul Jones and Corey Fagan to give bowlers Liam Renton, Noah Greenmount and Fagan a target.
Across town Colts visit improvers Leschenault who hope to have leading batsman Tom Buchanan, his cousin Matt Buchanan and Kurt D’Agostino on song against the solid Colts bowling attack.
The third-placed Green Caps will well remember the remarkable early season 5-10 haul by youngster Jayden Goodwin, backed by Joe Barningham and skipper Cruize Ciallella, Josh Topliss, Jake Boyle, Connor Ipsen and Ethan Kelly, who will be looking to top batsmen Murray Goodwin, son Jayden, Barningham and Ciallella to provide a target.
Back on home soil at Forrest Park North, Reece O’Connell and his merry Marist crew who will be looking for their captain, Kyle Davis, Brayden Clarke and rising star Josh Bradbury to give Allan Utterson, O’Connell, Jack Wilson and Clarke a target to aim at.
Hay Park are clinging to a top-four spot on the back of prolific Jono Whitney, Michael Tassone and Steve Florance and will need the top order to produce in the face of Whitney, James Ewing, Shaun Bulman and Greg Stephens.
The points table is headed by Eaton with 30 points, followed by Colts 17, Leschenault, 13, Hay Park, 8, Marist 4 and Dalyellup Beach 4.
