A portion of land is set to be allocated to upgrade the Forrest Avenue and Blair Street intersection in Bunbury.

Bunbury City Council will tonight vote on dedicating a portion of land adjacent to Bunbury Bowling Club for the extension of the left turn pocket on the Forrest Avenue westbound lane.

The upgrade will address drivers getting frustrated at the intersection, according to a council report.

“The extension of the Forrest Avenue westbound left turn pocket is required to reduce queuing at the traffic lights at peak traffic times,” the report said.

“Road users turning left at this location are frequently frustrated by the length of the queue ... and end up traversing the kerb and verge to undertake the movement.”
