YOUTH had their day in the sun at the Bunbury Shift Youth Festival, with activities, music and food on offer at Koombana Bay on Sunday.

The festival kicked off with a range of activities including painting a full car, lawn games, bouncy castles and food trucks.

The event was hosted by the City of Bunbury Youth Advisory Council, with the free festival part of celebrations for National Youth Week.

Kids could have a go at skateboarding ramps and grinds, with equipment to borrow and experienced skaters on hand to show the basics.

Out on the sand, kids could try inflatable sumo suits, stand-up paddleboarding, Frisbee golf and wooden blocks for building.

Families relaxed to live music throughout the afternoon before it came to a climax in the evening with Melbourne band British India hitting the stage on sunset.
