Zonta Golf Club to hold Inaugural Sanctuary Golf Tournament

The Zonta Club Bunbury is looking to raise funds for much-needed South West charities, including the upcoming White Ribbon Day at their inagural Zonta Golf Day on Thursday, October 19 at Sanctuary Golf Resort. The event will feature displays from the club showcasing their activities with an emphasis on White Ribbon March held in November, and event raising money and awareness for family violence. Nathan Reid from Direct Auto Solutions will be the guest speaker at the event, highlighting the support given to the SW Women’s Refuge, of which he and the Zonta Club have a close association. The day will be a two-person Ambrose competition, which will allow everyone regardless of golf experience a chance to win. As well as the social and donation aspect to the event, there will be three major prizes — women’s, men’s, and a mixed team — as well as prizes for novelties. Event co-ordinator Elizabeth Hovey said the club was excited to diversify its calendar and bring in new events to not just its members. “We’ve had fashion parades, quiz mornings, breakfasts for International Women’s Day, but we’re always on the lookout for something different,” she said. The Zonta Club of Bunbury was named City of Bunbury’s Community Group of the Year for 2023 which delivers services to the community with an emphasis on empowering local women and those in need. Registrations can be made to Elizabeth Hovey, The Zonta Club or Sanctuary Golf Resort and close on September 1.
