A teenage boy was arrested in Taree two days after a 36-year-old man was fatally stabbed at a home on Ronald Rd.
Emergency services were called to the house shortly before 5am on Monday after reports a man had been stabbed.
Officers from Manning/Great Lakes Police District arrived to find the 36-year-old critically injured.
Police and NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man, but he died at the scene.
A homicide investigation was launched and two crime scenes were established on Ronald Rd, including the home and another nearby location, with specialist forensic officers examining both sites.
Manning/Great Lakes Police District Commander Superintendent Grant Erickson said earlier in the week witnesses had come forward and were being interviewed.
Following inquiries, officers arrested a 16-year-old boy at an address in Taree about 2.55pm on Wednesday and was taken to Taree Police Station.
No charges have been laid.
