
A car that collided with a cyclist is causing traffic chaos on one of Perth’s major arterial roads as motorists contend with wild and wet driving conditions.
The left lane of Albany Highway, at Hamilton Street, heading towards the city in Cannington, has been shut as authorities respond to the incident that occurred just after 5.30am Wednesday.
The cyclist, a man in his 60s, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital under normal road conditions.
The driver, a man in his 70s, was not injured.
Its understood the cyclist was not seriously hurt.
Traffic is heavy in the area and Main Roads has urged drivers to exercise extra caution and merge carefully.
Towing services are on the scene.
