Commuters have been warned to brace for heavy delays across the metropolitan area after a number of early morning breakdowns and a crash on major arterial roads.
Northern suburbs commuters were hit with delays after a breakdown near Neerabup on the Mitchell Freeway southbound.
The left emergency lane was blocked and traffic slowed to a crawl near the Burns Beach Road entrance.
The breakdown has since been cleared, but drivers have been urged to “proceed with caution”.
Meanwhile, commuters heading into the city from Perth’s southern suburbs have also been hit with delays on the Kwinana Freeway.
A breakdown on the Canning Highway exit in Como has affected northbound traffic, with the left emergency lane closed.
Traffic is still flowing in the area, but drivers have been warned to be alert and drive safely.
Further south, another breakdown has northbound traffic backed up on the Kwinana Freeway.
The right emergency lane is blocked after Anketell Road in Mandogalup. Traffic is heavy on approach.
And in the east, a crash on Guildford Road has caused heavy traffic delays near South Guildford.
The crash was reported on the westbound lanes at Ivy Street.
It has since been cleared, but drivers have been warned to expect delays.
Finally in Nowergup, a lone cardboard box in the centre lane of the Lukin Drive entrance onto the Mitchell Freeway southbound has prompted an alert from Main Roads.
It is not causing delays but drivers are reminded to be alert in the area.
