Perth traffic: Kwinana Freeway southbound reopens after fatal Baldivis crash led to 10 hour closure

The Kwinana Freeway has reopened after being closed for more than 10 hours, including during peak-hour on Tuesday morning.
Southbound lanes were shut at Mundijong Road following a fatal crash in Baldivis, with motorists urged to seek alternative routes.
Emergency crews had been on site since late Monday night, with traffic remaining heavy on approaches for several hours on Tuesday morning.
Major Crash officers said a blue Ford Falcon sedan was travelling south on the Kwinana Freeway around 11.20pm when it left the road and struck a tree.

The 44-year-old female passenger suffered life-threatening injuries and died at the scene.
The 40-year-old male driver was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Earlier, a separate crash on Leach Highway westbound near the Kwinana Freeway entry at Bull Creek forced the closure of the left lane.
Meanwhile, debris that had partially blocked traffic on the Mitchell Freeway southbound at Hodges Drive in Joondalup has been cleared.
Main Roads confirmed the obstruction, a metal object, was in the left lane.
