Traffic chaos unfolded across Perth on Friday morning after multiple crashes caused lengthy delays.

A crash just after 6am on Orrong Road travelling east before Oats Street in Kewdale has shut down a lane of traffic.

Emergency crews remain at the scene and major traffic delays are expected in the area.

A crash on Mitchell Freeway southbound near Loftus Street also caused peak-hour chaos just after 8am, with Incident Response closing the right lane.

While the lane has since reopened, Main Roads says that traffic remains busy back to Karrinyup Road.

No injuries were reported from either crash.

Amid the spate of crashes, motorists have also been urged to drive to the conditions as wet and foggy weather hits Perth.

Roads remain wet after just over 2mm of rainfall poured over the metropolitan area overnight, and parts of Perth have experienced low visibility from fog.
