A tram has derailed after being hit by a cement mixer truck in Melbourne.

The tram derailed along Collins Street after being hit by the truck about 1pm on Wednesday.

No one was injured, police said.

The truck driver, a 25-year-old Tarneit man, stopped and assisted police with their inquiries.

The intersection of Collins and Exhibition streets have reopened.

Passengers were warned there may be delays along the 11, 12, 48 and 109 tram routes as services resumed.
