Bunbury Farmers Market: Mining giant Gina Rinehart offers Christmas Eve shoppers food vouchers

Mining magnate Gina Rinehart has switched from iron ore to produce stores this Christmas, gifting shoppers in two regional WA towns vouchers for their food shopping.
Residents in Vasse and Bunbury who spends more than $100 in one transaction at Bunbury Farmers Market stores will receive a $10 voucher towards their next shop, courtesy of the Hancock chairwoman.
The exclusive offer is available for one day only, with the vouchers only being offered to shoppers stocking up on supplies on Christmas Eve.
Western Australia’s most famous billionaire has already donated more than $50,000 in vouchers to Bunbury Farmers Market shoppers since 2023 — with the businesswoman anticipated to donate more than $30,000 worth of food vouchers across the two stores for this Christmas.
Mrs Rinehart said the initiative in Bunbury and Vasse has become a Christmas tradition she truly enjoys.

“It’s lovely to see happy faces return each year to support local growers and producers,” she said.
“Giving these Christmas vouchers is a way to also recognise the farmers who work so hard to put fresh food on our tables, and thank the families who choose to shop local.
“With the cost of food continuing to rise, this initiative also helps families stretch their grocery budget while choosing fresh, local produce for the Christmas table.
“Local growers continue to face rising costs and worsening conditions, especially as net zero becomes more onerous to comply with, and electricity prices more expensive, which makes choosing Australian farm produce to help the farmers more important than ever.
“Merry Christmas to our farmers and to all — thank you for shopping at my favourite farm fresh produce stores, both in Bunbury and Vasse.”
The gift vouchers are only available to customers who shop in-store at either the Vasse Village or Bunbury locations of Bunbury Farmers Market on December 24.
