Eleven charged with almost 100 offences in WA’s South West

The West Australian

Police have charged 11 people, including a 12-year-old child, with dozens of offences following an investigation into a spate of burglaries and car thefts in the South West.

A spike in the number of offences in the Bunbury region last month led police to establish Operation Triple Shot to catch those responsible for the crime spree.

Police identified a number of people who were allegedly operating in small groups to target homes and businesses in suburban and semi-rural areas.

It is alleged they were stealing vehicles and using them to commit other offences.

The 11 people charged following the investigation were all from the Bunbury region and were aged between 12 and 35.

They were charged with almost 100 offences, including vehicle theft, aggravated burglary and criminal damage.

Police said burglary rates in the region had fallen by 32 per cent following the operation.
