Perth is set for another summer scorcher next week, cracking 40C for the first time this year.

The bureau is forecasting the heat to kick off on Monday with a high of 37C before 40C hits on Tuesday.

The last time Perth saw a day that hot was less than a month ago, when there were multiple days in a row over 40 degrees over Christmas.
