RAC Rescue helicopter called to rescue motorcyclists seriously injured in West Pingelly and Elgin crashes

Two motorcyclists are being airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after two separate crashes in WA. The first incident happened near the intersection of Boyanup Road West and Jilley Road in Elgin, near Capel, about 1pm on Thursday afternoon. It is understood the motorcyclist, a man aged in his 40s, was trapped under the bike after the incident. The RAC Rescue helicopter is taking the man to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment. The helicopter is due to land at 3.20pm. It comes as authorities respond to a second crash in West Pingelly on York-Williams Road after a man — also in his 40s — crashed his bike. Authorities were alerted to the incident around 2.30pm, before it was discovered the man suffered serious injuries. The RAC rescue helicopter has since landed at the scene and is scheduled to take the man to Royal Perth Hospital on Thursday afternoon. A St John spokesperson said both of the motorcyclist’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
