Two men are receiving urgent medical care after the plane they were flying in crashed at a Western Australia aircraft this morning.

About 10.20am on Saturday, emergency services were called after a single-engine light aircraft came down near an airfield in Muchea, about 50km north of Perth.

The incident happened near the Muchea Airfield, commonly known as Greenside Airfield, off Brand Highway between Nolan Road and Airfield Road.

Two men were on board the flight when it crashed, a man in his 60s and another in his 30s.

Both men are receiving urgent medical care, while the aircraft suffered significant damage.

Investigations into the circumstances leading to the crash are under way.
