Prince Harry’s reconciliation with the Royal Family appears to be gathering pace, but one major obstacle remains.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly set to meet King Charles again before Christmas, with palace sources claiming the reunion has already been entered into the royal diary.
Royal expert Rob Shuter reports in his Naughty But Nice Substack that the planned meeting is far more significant than a casual family catch-up.
“This is not a casual ‘let’s get together sometime,’” a royal source said.
“Nobody drops in on the King. If Harry and Meghan are in Charles’s diary, it is because he wants them there. This is deliberate.”
The development appears to signal that Charles is determined to continue rebuilding his relationship with his youngest son, with another palace insider saying the fact a second meeting is being planned is significant.
“The important thing is that there will be another meeting,” the source said.
“Charles is making room for his son again, and Harry knows how significant that is.”
But while the door at Buckingham Palace appears to be opening, Harry is reportedly having far less success repairing his fractured relationship with his brother.
Despite Prince Harry reportedly attempting to make contact, sources claim Prince William has not reciprocated and there remains virtually no relationship between the Sussexes and the Prince and Princess of Wales.
“Harry has reached out. William isn’t responding,” the source said.
“There is no meaningful communication with William or Catherine. Charles is willing to move forward. William is not.”
The contrasting responses leave Harry’s royal reconciliation moving in two very different directions, with King Charles reportedly making room for his son while the rift with William remains firmly unresolved.
Meanwhile, Meghan is pushing ahead with her lifestyle brand As Ever, launching a new series of festive hampers following her move to the UK.
To mark the launch, the Duchess of Sussex shared a video on Instagram featuring throwback photographs from her childhood as an ambitious Girl Scout, alongside a sweet moment with her five-year-old daughter Lilibet.
In the clip, the mother and daughter can be seen making jam together.
“What do you think Lili?” Meghan asks.

“I think it’s beautiful,” Lili replies as she helps stir.
Meghan used the post to reflect on her entrepreneurial streak, revealing she had been starting small businesses since childhood.
“When I was about eight years old I started my own business making handmade scrunchies I sewed on my grandmother’s Singer sewing machine and sold for $1 a piece,” she began.
“I sold Girl Scout cookies, had lemonade stands, worked in a frozen yoghurt shop and had countless other jobs. My entrepreneurial spirit was always there.
“As I shared years ago on The Tig … ‘Behind every successful woman is herself’ – and that’s true … but there’s more: a community of love, a squad of support, an amazing team.
“As I pinch myself looking at how this brand has grown, and as we introduce our holiday collection, I feel very proud, and grateful.”
Meghan is offering three festive hampers ranging from $300 to $370, featuring products including peppermint and lemon-and-ginger teas, her jams, flower sprinkles and scented candles.
The launch also puts Meghan’s festive offering alongside Buckingham Palace’s own Christmas range, with the Palace gift store releasing a $133 Sweet Treats hamper featuring chocolate chip shortbread biscuits, clotted cream fudge, salted caramel chocolate, chocolate bars and hot chocolate.
