President Donald Trump has sensationally back-flipped on the US’ Strait of Hormuz blockade, claiming that it will remain “permanently open” as China agrees to stop sending Iran weapons.

Announcing the dramatic change of heart on Truth Social, Trump said China welcomed the U-turn.

“China is very happy that I am permanently opening the Strait of Hormuz, I am doing it for them - and the World,” he said on Truth Social.

“This situation will never happen again.”

The United States naval operation came following failed peace talks with Iran, and the President launched the blockade on April 13, but has now rescinded the command.

It comes as Trump announced the Beijing will not send weapons to Iran as part of their agreement.

“They have agreed not to send weapons to Iran,” Trump wrote.

“President Xi will give me a big, fat, hug when I get there in a few weeks.”

Trump further praised himself and China’s cooperation over the matter, while further reinforcing the US’ military might.

“We are working together smartly, and very well done. Doesn’t that beat fighting???,” he wrote.

“BUT REMEMBER, we are very good at fighting, if we have to - far better than anyone else!!!”

Iranian military had threatened to block trade through the Red Sea if the US continued to bloackade their ports, along with the Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman.
