Perth Lynx have had their semi-final against Canberra postponed just hours before tip-off after an outbreak of COVID-19 within the opposition camp.

The Lynx beat Canberra in Perth on Thursday and were due to play in game two at 2pm on Sunday.

But the Capitals have since had multiple players test positive to COVID-19 and more players are showing symptoms.

With so many players unavailable, the Capitals are not able to field a team.

The WNBL called the game off shortly after 11am and has not announced when a make-up game will occur but remains keen to finish the series.

“The priority of any finals series is to play it as a best of three. However should that not be possible it can be played as a best of two, then as a single game,” the league said in a statement.

“The WNBL Grand Final will remain as a three-game series, again with revised dates being released in the coming days.”
