Western Australia rising star Cameron Green has had his breakout season further acknowledged, placing second in the Sheffield Shield player of the year award.

The 20-year-old notched 13 votes to finish runner-up behind joint winners Moises Henriques and Nic Maddinson (16 votes).

Evergreen WA veteran Shaun Marsh (724 runs at 48) polled 11 votes to finish in third place ahead of Victorian seamer Peter Siddle (10 votes).

Green was the only batsman to score three red-ball centuries across the season, on his way to an impressive 699 runs at 63.54.

The left-hander tallied 436 runs across the season - the most by any player - at an average just shy of 50.

Arguably Bolton’s most important knock came in the WNCL final, where she top-scored with 67 to lead WA to their first domestic title in 33 years.

Bolton also took 3-34 in the final, earning her well deserved player of the match honours.

The 31-year-old became the first WA female cricketer to surpass 400 runs in a season, to go with her 16 scalps.

“I’m really proud of this group,” Bolton said after the breakthrough victory in February.

“We’ve worked really hard for this. Everyone played their role and I’m just excited we were able to get the job done.”
