Milestone match for Eaton Eagles legend
Eaton Eagles Hockey Club life member Tammy Scott will reach a major milestone on Saturday when she plays her 400th game for the club against Boyup Brook.
No-one at the Eagles has played as many games as Scott, who made her debut for the club as a 15-year-old goalkeeper in 1998.
She started out playing for the A2 team, before working her way into the firsts.
“I went into the South West Hockey League as a goalkeeper and was also playing A2 as a winger,” she said.
“Now I usually just play on the half line in the A2s.”
Scott left goalkeeping behind in 2009, but her all-round skills have meant she flourished in her role on the field.
She said being inducted as a life member was a highlight of her almost 20 years at the club.
“We won a few grand finals over the years and going into the women’s Country Week for Bunbury and winning was another highlight,” she said.
“It is a great club to be a part of.
“It is just such a family-orientated club.”
