Australia has officially had its first taste of Super Bowl fever — and the Jonas Brothers did not hold back.

Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas took over the MCG on Friday for the NFL Melbourne halftime show, as fans flooded onto the field to create a giant mosh pit in the middle of the historic stadium.

The brothers opened the show with fan favourite Burnin’ Up, before launching into Sucker as thousands packed around the stage.

The performance also featured Year 3000, while the brothers delivered a rendition of Australian classic You’re the Voice in a nod to the Melbourne crowd.

It came midway through the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams clash, the first regular-season NFL game ever played in Australia.

And for those who came for the music rather than the touchdowns, the NFL brought one of its biggest traditions Down Under in serious style.

The NFL Melbourne game and the Jonas Brothers halftime performance were broadcast live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport.

The game is also available to Australian viewers through Netflix and ESPN on Disney+.

The San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams kicked off at the MCG at 10.35am AEST on Friday, September 11.

Did all three Jonas Brothers perform in Melbourne?

Yes. Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas all made it onto the MCG stage despite a last-minute travel scare involving Joe.

Joe was forced to miss a scheduled appearance at Melbourne’s NFL Kickoff Festival on Thursday after flight delays left him stranded on his journey to Australia.

He instead appeared in a video projected to fans at the event, apologising for missing the appearance.

But there was no such problem on Friday, with all three brothers taking the stage for the historic halftime show.

The performance came as the NFL brought its famous combination of sport, music and celebrity to Australia for its first regular-season game in the country.

The brothers have sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, landed 26 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned two Grammy nominations.

Which celebrities are at the NFL Melbourne game?

It might not quite be the Super Bowl celebrity suite, but some big names descended on Melbourne for the historic game.

Hugh Jackman, Harry Connick Jr, G Flip, Mick Fanning, Mitchell Starc, Patrick Cripps, Nick and Josh Daicos, Scotty James, Baker Boy, Jai Arrow and Marcus Bontempelli were among the notable names expected around the MCG.

NFL royalty was also in town, including legendary San Francisco 49ers receiver Jerry Rice, alongside former stars Todd Gurley, Torry Holt and Cliff Avril.

Australian singer and former Olympic swimmer Cody Simpson also joined the day’s entertainment, performing the Australian national anthem.

But for a few minutes at halftime, touchdowns took a back seat as the Jonas Brothers turned the MCG into one enormous concert.
