The West Coast Fever could still play another game in front of their passionate green army, with Super Netball today confirming no venues had been locked in for the upcoming finals series.

New fixtures released today, Fever will play three games in 11 days to see out the 2020 home and away season with matches against fellow finals contender the Queensland Firebirds, the Collingwood Magpies and the GIANTS.

All three games will be played in the Queensland hub which was hurried pulled together last week when South Australia went into COVID lockdown.

But the competition is yet to decide if all finals will be played in the same hub environment.

“The league is working through venues for the Finals series and will provide an update as soon as possible,” Super Netball said in a statement.

“The league is working through ticketing, with the aim to have as many matches open to fans as possible.”

Fever remain a big finals chance despite starting the season on -12 points (or three wins) behind the rest of the competition due to salary cap breach penalties.

Just one win separates fourth-place Fever from first-placed Giants, with Swifts and Lightning behind only on percentage.

The fifth-placed Firebirds sit one win behind Fever.

New Netball Australia CEO Kelly Ryan said the priority had been getting the home and away season completed to ensure a finished competition.

“We have worked closely with all eight teams, as well as broadcasters and other partners, to lock in the fixture for the remaining three rounds of the home and away season,” she said.

“There is no doubt it has been challenging, but we continue to adapt under the circumstances.

“I’d like to thank our teams, staff, umpires and stakeholders, including broadcasters, for their sacrifice and determination.”

The Fever have already played a game in the Queensland hub, taking on last year’s premiers Melbourne Vixens on Thursday night.

Fever came away with a comfortable 14-goal win without the services of goal attack Sasha Glasgow who was withdrawn with a foot injury.

Glasgow is expected to return for Tuesday’s clash with the Firebirds.
