Perth Glory have added WA trio Trent Ostler, Daniel Walsh and Mitch Oxborrow to their A-League squad for the coming season.

Midfielder Ostler and central defender Walsh, both 19, have progressed through the Glory academy and represented Australia at the 2019 under-17 World Cup in Brazil.

The duo have signed scholarship contracts, while 26-year-old Oxborrow’s one-year deal marks the start of his second spell at the club.

Central midfielder Oxborrow played for Glory’s NPL side before making 26 senior A-League appearances from 2015-17.

He has also played for A-League clubs Newcastle Jets and Brisbane Roar.

Glory coach Richard Garcia said the trio can make significant contributions this season.

“Trent and Daniel have shown great determination to overcome serious injuries over the last 12 months,” Garcia said.

“It’s fantastic to see them closing in on a return to full fitness and being in a position to fulfil their huge potential.

“Mitch is someone who understands what Perth Glory is all about and his signing further strengthens our midfield options.”

Walsh, who celebrated today’s signing on his 19th birthday, said: “I’m really looking forward to taking the next steps in my career with my hometown club.

“It’s fantastic to be playing my football in such a positive environment.”

Ostler said: “It’s great how the club has supported me and I’m really excited to be given the opportunity to continue my career here.”

Oxborrow said he was “ecstatic” to be back at Glory.

“It’s something very special to me and I’m very grateful to be involved with the club and the squad that we’ve got,” he said.

Glory chief executive Tony Pignata said the signings were an example of the club’s commitment to provide opportunities for WA players.

“Trent and Daniel are another two young WA players who have progressed through the ranks of our academy while Mitch was also previously a part of the Glory youth set-up,” Pignata said.

“All three are gifted players who will relish representing their home-state club as part of a sizeable WA contingent within the current squad.”
