It might be for the only time this year, but West Coast fans have been given some bragging rights over Fremantle on a record-breaking day for the 2024 Port to Pub swim.

For the first time, the West Coast OWLS beat the Fremantle Dockers Old Salts past the post in the gruelling swim from Leighton Beach in Fremantle to Rottnest Island.

The Old Salts have beaten West Coast every time the two outfits have entered a six-person team, but this year, the combination of Drew Banfield, Mitchell White, Will Schofield, Ashley McIntosh, Jamie McNamara and Nick Stone were too potent.

Matthew Burton, Paul Hasleby, Jamie Merillo, Jason Norrish and Lee Spur represented the Dockers.
