Experienced West Coast midfielder Jack Graham is edging closer to a return from injury after months on the sidelines.
Graham has not played since he sustained a serious shoulder injury in the club’s Gather Round defeat to Geelong in April, which required surgery.
The 28-year-old is now listed as 1-2 weeks away on the club’s injury list and is firming as a chance to return against North Melbourne at Optus Stadium next week.
However, the Eagles have a bye the following week at both AFL and WAFL level, which may factor into whether they decide to hold back or pull the trigger on the dual Richmond premiership player.
“Jack will be entering the main football program this week and will begin a block of full training prior to his return,” West Coast high-performance manager Phil Merriman said.
Young forward Jack Hutchinson has the same time frame listed for his return from a hamstring injury, which has already sidelined him for the past two games.
“We will see Hutch in some more training this week,” Merriman said.
“He has been hitting all of his speed markers and will be looking at full training as early as next week.”
Veteran forward Jamie Cripps remains sidelined indefinitely following a knee injury, while draftee Sam Allen (hamstring) is running out of time to push for a maiden appearance this season.
With 12 rounds remaining, the 19-year-old is listed at 9-11 weeks on the injury list after his comeback from an ACL tear last year was halted by a hamstring injury.
The Eagles did not provide an update on key defender Harry Edwards as he continues to be monitored following another concussion. He remains listed as “TBC”.
