Grand Royal Riverside Hue matches style with history

A new hotel, Grand Royal Riverside Hue — Fusion Collection, has opened on the bank of the Huong River in the heart of Hue City.

This was central Vietnam’s former imperial capital.

But the 161-room, wellness-inspired hotel is very much of today, and it marks a milestone in the Fusion group’s expansion in the region.

On the southern bank of the river, next to the Truong Tien Bridge, the hotel is set firmly in a UNESCO‑recognised heritage landscape.

It is rooted in history but has contemporary style.

Fusion Hotel Group chief executive officer Christopher Hur says: “Hue is one of those rare cities where history isn’t backdrop — it’s the whole point. Opening here is a deliberate move: it rounds out our Vietnam portfolio in a destination that demands authenticity. We’re not just adding keys; we’re planting a flag at a moment when travellers are increasingly seeking meaning alongside comfort.”

And Ha Tran, general manager of the hotel, adds: “In recent years, Hue has continued to strengthen its position as one of Vietnam’s most meaningful heritage destinations.”

DESIGN & DINING

The hotel’s rooms are in two towers, as it is designed around the concept of “A Tale of Two Times”.

+ Architecturally, the hotel at No. 02 Hung Vuong Street is inspired by Indochine elegance, reflecting a period of cultural exchange that shaped Hue’s urban identity.

+ Interiors have wood and other local materials, with jade-toned hues.

+ Jade & Ginger restaurant serves a breakfast buffet daily and has all-day dining. There are Vietnamese flavours such as bun bo Hue, pho and banh mi, alongside Hue specialties and European dishes.

+ The Amber Lounge is the hotel’s lobby lounge. By day it has tea, coffee and light refreshments, and in the evening it is a refined bar with curated wines, cocktails and spirits.

SA SPA

+ Sa Wellness spa has four treatment rooms and therapists who use locally sourced herbs and natural essential oils.

+ It has a fitness centre, steam room and skincare and rejuvenation services.
