The girlfriend of Callum Robinson has issued a three-word statement after the three men who murdered Callum, his brother Jake and their American friend Jack Carter Rhoad were sentenced to 158 years and nine months jail each.
Jesus Gerardo, known as El Kekas, Irineo Francisco and Angel Jesus were convicted of aggravated homicide and related offences by a judge in the Mexican city of Ensenada earlier this month.
The judge ruled the three Mexican men acted with premeditation when they shot dead the trio near the coastal city on April 27, 2024.
Emily Livia, who entered Callum’s life on December 15 2022, took to Instagram at the weekend, where she used three words to describe her reaction to the life sentences.
“Rot in hell,” she wrote in an Instagram Story against a black background.

Sign upOne month after Callum’s death, Ms Livia shared a lengthy, emotional tribute to her boyfriend, his brother and Mr Rhoad on social media.
The couple had known of each other before they started dating after Callum moved from Perth to the US to play lacrosse and wound up in Maryland, where Ms Livia had grown up.

They frequented the same bars, socialised in the same friend groups, and both ended up relocating to San Diego in California.
“There are many times we should have met, but fate decided we were ready to be in each other’s lives on December 15, 2022, in a dark bar in Pacific Beach, San Diego,” she wrote in a post shared on June 28, 2024.
“From the moment we met, our connection was undeniable.
“Our relationship was the most magical connection I’ve ever experienced. And that’s exactly how I would describe Callum, he was magic.”

Ms Livia also honoured Jake, saying the one thing she’ll remember most about him was his laugh.
She described Carter as “kind, funny, full of life with an infectious energy”.
“You don’t come across humans like Callum, Jake and Carter very often, if ever in your lifetime. And if you do, cherish them,” she wrote.
The Robinsons and Carter were travelling through the Baja California region on a surfing trip when they were killed during an ordeal prosecutors described as a “robbery gone wrong”.
The bodies were found dumped in a well days later after they were reported missing.
In a statement on Saturday, the brothers’ parents, Debra and Martin Robinson, said “justice has been served”.
“No sentence, no matter how long, will ever bring our beautiful boys back or undo the devastating loss suffered by their family and friends,” they said.
“The pain of losing Callum and Jake will stay with us forever.
“However, we take some comfort in knowing that these men will be removed from society and will never have the opportunity to inflict this kind of unimaginable pain and suffering on other families.
“While nothing can change what happened, we hope this outcome allows us to take a small step forward, knowing that justice has been served.”
