Fire has damaged a majestic Perth church on Monday morning, but it appears the main chapel has been spared after flames tore through its ground floor.
Firefighters were called to the blaze at the St Mary the Virgin church in South Perth just before 11am.
DFES says the third alarm property fire call was received at 10.49am with multiple crews deployed to the scene.
The fire had been controlled and contained within about 20 minutes.
Crews managed to contain the fire to one room of the building.

The room is on the ground floor of the Anglican parish, DFES says.
No injuries have been reported.
