The arson squad want to speak with a woman who could be wearing pyjamas as part of their investigation into an emergency level bushfire that put lives at risk and cut power to Perth Airport.

WA Police said Annalese Margaret Fowler, 41, is known to frequent rural properties and bushland areas in the Forrestfield and Kalamunda areas.

In a public appeal for information regarding her whereabouts, police said she could be “wearing pyjamas and walking a small dog”.

“She is described as approximately 160cm tall, of slim build, with brown hair and blue/green eyes.”

The bushfire razed 20 hectares and was first reported near Holmes Road in Forrestfield about 1.20pm Thursday.

DFES said there were no reports of injury or property damage despite the fire being fanned by easterly winds towards Kalamunda and Lesmurdie.

It reached an emergency level warning and put homes and lives at risk in the area bounded by Bird Road, Panoramic Terrace, Ozone Terrace, Yorna and Alpine roads.

More than 30 fire trucks rushed to the scene before the blaze was contained by 7pm. Crews were patrolling the firegrounds throughout the night.

The arson squad were deployed to the scene of the fire, which is being treated as suspicious.

Western Power said power lines leading to the airport were impacted by the bushfire. Operations at Perth Airport were returning to normal on Thursday night.

Anyone with information regarding Ms Fowler’s whereabouts is asked to contact police immediately on 131 444.
