They might have had their fair share of ups and downs this season, however reigning BDCA women premiers Marist displayed tremendous grit last Sunday at Leschenault Recreation Park.

Subjected to some brilliant bowling from Green Caps medium pacer Kasey Hill, the Blues slumped to 9-52 in their pursuit of 126, with hope seemingly fading by the delivery.

However the experienced combination of Zoe Buck and Kelly Bastow didn’t let the task faze them.

Despite having multiple bowlers rotated through in a bid to finish the game, both Buck and Bastow remained patient and slowly but surely achieved a seemingly unfathomable target.

Of course, Jessica Barton’s side will be determined not to let this happen against Colts on Sunday at the Bunbury Recreation Ground, given the recent form they have been in.

Donnybrook will also want to get back into the winners’ circle against Leschenault, with supreme batter Stephanie Jolly primed for a big outing after falling early last weekend against Colts.
