Hawks bounce back with big win over Donnybrook

Augusta-Margaret River moved to second on the SWFL ladder after strolling to a 13.5 (83) to 5.4 (34) win over Donnybrook at Gloucester Park on Sunday. The Hawks, who were keen to bounce back from a disappointing showing against Bunbury a week earlier, quickly took control of the game and were never threatened. After the game, Hawks coach Matt Jamieson was thrilled with how his men responded so swiftly from their out-of-sorts effort against the Bulldogs. “We were a lot hungrier yesterday around the contest, which was great,” he said. “I was very proud of our leaders. “They were the ones who stood up a little bit last week (against Bunbury) and they were the ones who stood up and gave us the response we needed — and the rest followed. “To maintain the pressure over four quarters, even when we did not have the football, was something which was missing before, so I was really pleased with that.” GOALS — Aug-Marg River: B.
