More help for cancer service

Rando & Associates hopes an annual charitable initiative will break new ground this year as it continues ongoing fundraising efforts for the State’s leading cancer support service.

The Forrest Avenue-based financial consultancy’s fourth annual Women’s Health and Wellness Day will be held at the Sanctuary Golf Club on October 27.

The event aims to raise money for Cancer Council WA’s South West support centre, Dot’s Place, with organisers believing they could surpass the $10,000 target set.

More than 50 people attended a fundraising tea at Rando & Associates on Friday last week.

Dot’s Place centre coordinator Clare Paine said the gathering, which raised $1275, was generous and thanked the firm for its support.

“It’s awesome,” she said.

“Rando & Associates are already one of our biggest fundraisers with their annual Women’s Wellness Day.

“For them to hold a second event is just fantastic.”

A number of fundraisers have been held in Greater Bunbury as part of the 2017 Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea initiative, with an event in Brunswick raising nearly $5000.

About 800 people attended William Barrett and Sons’ 24th annual tea last month, helping generate more than $20,000.
