A Bunbury man received a pre-Christmas treat when he found out he had won a $1000 shopping spree.

David Lantry was drawn as the winner of the South Western Times competition and was told about his prize on Christmas Eve.

Mr Lantry has already started putting his prize to good use, buying a pair of shoes from Bunbury Forum store The Athletes Foot.

The competition required entrants to put their details on an entry form at one of the participating stores.

The stores involved were Bunbury Forum Shopping Centre, Bunbury 4x4, South West Yamaha, Fitzroy’s Cycles, Bunbury Mower Service and Eaton Home Timber and Hardware.

Mr Lantry plans to spend most of his prize at Bunbury 4x4, the same store where he entered the competition.

“I saw the competition sheet and put my name down, and the rest is history,” Mr Lantry said.

“I will probably spend most of it at Bunbury 4x4 as I am doing the car up so I can go travelling.”
