SWFL 2023: Busselton, Harvey looking to achieve win number 10 in respective matches against Eaton, Collie

From building winning streaks to battling for redemption, there is set to be plenty of action around the grounds during round 13 of the 2023 South West Football League’s women’s season. It is all set to kick off on Saturday at Kelly Park when Carey Park and Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault do battle in a bid to bounce back from their respective losses last weekend. Carey Park were handed a 31-point loss when they faced off against Bunbury, while HBL were kept scoreless against an unshakeable Harvey Bulls outfit. Despite the results being less than ideal, both sides are battling for a spot in the top five on 4-6 records, separated only by percentage. The last time they met, the Lions held off the Panthers in an exciting contest at Brunswick Oval, which saw them win 3.5 (23) to 3.1 (19). Sunday will see a triple bill of matches with the likes of Busselton, Donnybrook and Harvey Bulls looking to continue building on their respective winning streaks. The Magpies will be looking to notch win number 10 at Glen Huon Reserve when they go head to head with Eaton. Boasting a 9-0 record with a percentage exceeding 6000, Busselton don’t plan on slowing down when they return from their round 12 bye. Meanwhile Eaton, who sit in ninth place with a 3-7 record, will be keen to try to get in front in a bid to step up to the tough challenge Busselton will set. That being said, Eaton will have a challenging task ahead of them after the last time they met in round two saw them kept scoreless while Busselton booted 15.11 (101). After keeping Eaton to just two goals last weekend, Donnybrook will be looking to continue building momentum towards the finals when they host Dunsborough at VC Mitchell Park. As the Dons look to obtain their seventh win of the season and build up a winning streak, Dunsborough are set to return from a bye looking to continue building form. When they last met in round two, Donnybrook pulled off a convincing 7.9 (51) to 0.2 (2) win over the Sharks. The round will conclude with Harvey Bulls looking to extend their winning streak to a seventh win when they travel to Collie Recreation Ground to go head to head with Collie Eagles. After dominating the Lions by 47 points last weekend, the Bulls have continued to prove themselves as a top contender for the finals, while Collie continue trying to find form and obtain their first win since returning to the competition. The last time they met in round two, Harvey Bulls quickly took control of the contest and went on to keep Collie scoreless.
