The deciding Test between Australia and South Africa is on a knife’s edge after the honours were shared on moving day in Cape Town.

Josh Inglis completed a classy ton before Cooper Connolly helped the tourists to a 100-run lead after the first innings.

And while South Africa threw two wickets away early, stoic skipper Temba Bavuma led a stern resistance before falling very late in the day.

Recap the action from our blog.

Goodnight!

That’s it for today.

We will be back for day four on Friday!

KEEP, BENCH, CUT

ANALYSIS: Josh Inglis completed a magnificent century on day three to hand Australian selectors a welcome headache heading into the home summer, but skipper Pat Cummins is in a rare rut.

Stumps

Rickelton sees off the final few balls with solid defence and what a day of cricket!

Australia will be very happy with South Africa effectively 4-40 after the tourists took a 100-run advantage into the second innings.

But the South Africans are far from out of the match.

We have a cracking end to this match coming.

Starc to Rickelton

The big lefty is steaming in for this last over.

Would hate to be Rickelton right now.

SA 4-136

Split slips!

Rickelton gets an edge first ball but it lands between first and second slip and goes for four.

Incredible luck for the keeper as we enter the final over!

SA 4-135

BOWLED HIM!!!!!!

Bavuma could not hold on!

The silly point comes in and Bavuma tries to drive.

The ball lands in the foot holes and rips into the stumps!

Huge wicket to end the day. The skipper out for 35.

SA 4-131

Mind games

Starc gets one over and then Lyon is back on who goes around the wicket with a leg slip for two balls before jumping back over.

Assume Starc is swapping ends.

SA 3-131

Last shout

Starc and Hazlewood are back on in a bid to grab a late breakthrough.

Australia are desperate for one more.

SA 3-127

Dug in

The batters are dug in now and are looking to see off the final 15 minutes.

The quicks are toiling away much better than in the first innings.

SA 3-127

Grinding

There’s nothing easy for South Africa right now.

Lyon is getting great turn and his speed is making it a handful while Cummins has tightened his line.

South Africa lead but only by 18.

Two more wickets tonight and Australia are well on their way, but if the Proteas hold, they can take the box seat tomorrow.

SA 3-118
