Augusta-Margaret River’s Simon Moore became the first SWFL player since 1985 to win consecutive Hayward medals on Friday night.

Moore polled 31 votes, with Mitchell Tenardi (Busselton) finishing runner-up on 23.

It was also a special evening for Busselton’s Katie-Jayne Grieve, who claimed the Nola Marino Medal on 30 votes, ahead of Charli Wicksteed (Donnybrook) and Kloe Bassett (Bunbury).

Both Moore and Grieve watched the count at their respective clubs with their teammates, who heartily endorsed their achievements throughout the year.

Check out Tuesday’s Bunbury Herald for a full recap of Friday night’s event.
