SWFL 2022: Chris Kinninmont excited to guide SWFL at Nutrien Ag Solutions senior football championships

Chris Kinninmont will guide the SWFL at this year’s Nutrien Ag Solutions country football championships, as they aim to return to the summit of country representative football. Held between July 8 and 10 in Perth, the carnival brings together some of the finest footballers across regional WA, as they vie for the crown of best on-field regional league in the State. Kinninmont will take over from longstanding SWFL coach Jamie Nani, who achieved sustained success at country week level. As soon as he got word from league headquarters that his appointment was confirmed, Kinninmont and his coaching staff got straight down to business. “I’ve obviously got a list of players in mind, however, of course it will come down to player availability,” he said. “I have got a coaching staff and a chairman of selectors, so we are watching various games and keeping an eye on the players who tick the boxes to come along with us.” Kinninmont, who relished every opportunity to represent the SWFL during his playing days, is keen hold a series of training sessions prior to the carnival in order to develop cohesion amongst the group. “Probably after the June long weekend, we will have three one-hour sessions,” he said. “Which will lead into the Monday before the carnival, where we will have a jumper presentation at league headquarters.” The option of hosting these training sessions across a variety of locations — including Busselton, Bunbury and Harvey — has not been ruled out. Brett Maguire has been reappointed as colts coach, along with Maxwell Jetta (women’s team).
